Mum Designed
Brolly Sheets are designed by a Mum, not a corporation, so they are practical, easy to wash and fabulous quality.
100% Cotton Sleep Surface
We use 100% cotton for the sleep surface. Why sleep on polyester when you can sleep on a 100% cotton surface. Soft, comfy and breathable our Brolly Sheets also make for a more comfortable sleep for those with eczema and dust allergies.
Better For Landfill
Our products are made to last as we are committed to washable, reusable products to reduce landfill.
Largest range of bed sizes and colours in the world
We have the biggest range of bed sizes (from cot to king) and the largest range of colours and patterns globally. We offer choice.
Global Family Business
We have been a family business (that exports globally) for over 12 years. Over 100,000 parents, grandparents and caregivers have swapped a never-ending parade of wet bedding and huge piles of washing, for warm, dry bedding and peaceful nights.
We know the quality of Brolly Sheets products is outstanding. Independently you, as part of the Brolly Sheets group shares the core values of people before profits.
Cotton feels better than polyester
Almost every person on the planet owns cotton clothing, probably denim. The main product difference in Brolly Sheets products is the feel. Of course we can’t show this through our website, but you can check out our hundreds of reviews. We really believe we are the softest, quietest, comfiest bed pads on the market globally. Cotton wins over polyester every time.
Ethical Factory
Brolly Sheets has a wonderful long-term relationship with our Chinese manufacturing team. James owns a small factory with a strict no child labour policy and he ensures all his staff are paid a good wage. His factory is well ventilated and maintains high ethical standards in everything it does. Diane regularly travels up to China to meet with James to ensure we keep the same high standards of quality and ethical manufacturing.

Just place your Brolly Sheet on top of the fitted sheet and tuck the wings in under the mattress to hold in place. The quilted side is the upper surface to be slept on.
Your Brolly Sheet provides an excellent layer of protection to keep the bottom sheet and mattress dry. Please wash prior to use as this will soften the cotton and increase the absorbency.
It’s a good idea to have two – one on the bed and one in the wash – so you’re never caught out. What’s more, they’re a cinch to wash; simply throw in the machine and then in the dryer or on the line. Remember – avoid hot wash and dry as extremes of temperature will melt the waterproofing. Please use cold or warm temperatures.
A king single is our most popular size as it fits a single bed and a king single bed. However as Brolly Sheets are available in so many sizes, it is easy to choose the one to best fit your bed.
If you have a restless sleeper, then next size up will give you extra “tuck in”.
Brolly Sheets are designed to be easy to change and easy to wash. Just pop in the wash with like colours and wash with cold or warm water. No soaking is needed. You can tumble dry on a low heat.
Just remember; wash separately before use as this will soften the fabric and aid absorbency and Do not (Hot wash or hot dry (as it will you will damage the waterproof backing ) Iron or dry clean - we know this isn’t likely – but we have to say it. Our Brolly Sheets are used for kids and adults alike so they are super absorbent. They hold 2 litres which is more than enough for kids and most adults.
Sometimes we discontinue colours/products because they haven’t been very popular. It doesn’t happen very often, but it can happen.
Sometimes we have things “fall off” our website into cyberspace – who knows where they go, maybe the same place as socks after washing?
So if you can’t find something, send us a quick email with what you are after and we will have a look to see whether it is discontinued or we have lost it in another dimension and need to bring it back to the real world.
You certainly can. Just click through to our contact page here and give us a call.

Our sleeping liners are not absorbent, they are waterproof.
This is because to be absorbent, they would need a thick, absorbent layer like a Brolly Sheet has. This would make it very hard to wash and dry out again whilst camping. The quilted version has a little absorbency, but not as much as a Brolly Sheet.
Our liners are designed for young children that are almost toilet trained and just want some extra piece of mind whilst away at camp or on holiday.
Sorry – no.
Our liners are designed for young children that are almost toilet trained and just want some extra piece of mind whilst away at camp or on holiday.
They are 170 cm x 70 cm.
Keep in mind that because the inside surface is waterproof, it is slippery. Many of our customers pin the corners to their doona to hold it in place. I know, it can be a hassle, but it is easier to unpin 4 (or 6) pins than to wash most doonas. Use nappy pins if you are worried about them coming undone.
If you are changing the protector every night, we recommend that you leave your printed outer cover off the inner and use lay flat on top. Then you are just changing the protector, not the outer cover.

We source premium materials from around the world. All materials undergo strict testing and are manufactured under rigorous guidelines.
Our nappies are predominately made of: Super Absorbent Material (SAP), wood pulp, tissue paper, PE film, polypropylene non-woven fabrics, elastics.
Texi products are part of the Brolly Sheets family and are sold exclusively through our www.IndependentlyYou.com.au site.
Texi Care is part of the family owned and run Brolly Sheets. Brolly Sheets was founded in 2006 and is still wholly owned by husband and wife team; Diane Hurford and Glenn Hawes. Diane started their business at markets on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and has grown considerably since then.
We listen to our customers and design solutions to make their lives a little easier.
In 2019 we split out a new brand called Independently You to differentiate products designed by Diane, for the additional needs market. Independently You has a range of washable and disposable products designed with dignity and care in mind.
In 2020 we created this new brand, Texi Care solely for our new range of adult and youth disposable products.
We care deeply for our customers and our planet. We know disposables are not good for our planet, but even though we do make adult cloth nappies, we know cloth just doesn’t work for many of our customers. Our mission is to help people so we are trying to create disposables that are a little bit better than others.
We want to address the issues around sustainability and landfill and keep working to improve. This is the very start of our journey, please join us.
All disposables whether for babies or adults contain SAP.
Texi Care diapers are designed for youth and adult. They need to be a lot more absorbent than a baby nappy.
Our Sumitimo SAP (Super Absorbent Polymer) is sourced from Japan and has a higher absorbency than many other brands. SAP is the crystal like gel that makes the diaper absorbent. All disposable nappies use a type of SAP. Our SAP materials are:
· Safe
· Non toxic
· Non-mutagenic
· Non-irritating
· Used throughout the sanitary and medical industries.
Yes, Texi disposables include SAP as well as all disposable nappies, including organic and vegan brands as well.
Used for over 20 years, SAP (Super Absorbent Polymer) is an absorbent material which is a component that all nappies have. SAP is an effective material to soak up moisture and can absorb up to 150 times its weight in water.
The Sumitimo SAP used in Texi Care disposables are not toxic and isn’t harmful to the skin. We make sure that our SAP has undergone compliance regulation testing to ensure it’s safe to use.
Brolly Sheets puts a high emphasis on sourcing sustainable materials and minimizing waste where possible. If a highly absorbent bio-SAP was developed, we would make the move to the more sustainable option.
Yes, we have free samples packs containing two pull up pants. Please click here more information.
Our pull up pants are between 30% and 39% made from sustainable products. (The difference is due to product sizes). We are working ongrowing this.
Chain of Custody certification for our pulp
SGS is a global testing and accreditation agency. Our USA fluff pulp has been certified by SGS so we can guarantee our pulp comes from well-managed forests or other controlled sources.
Yes, our pants are tested by SGS which is a global testing and accreditation agency.
Our diapers are made in China.
For any material to biodegrade or compost, it needs to have oxygen, heat and light. Because of this, anything in landfill, even if it is compostable or biodegradable, will not break down.
Composting pull up pants and nappies has its own problems as they contain faeces which is extremely hazardous to our health. Hence home composting is not an option and at this time, commercial composting facilities will not accept nappy waste.
Check out our sizing page here.
